While the students are busy about their Palakasan (Sports Festival), I am currently updating this blog and thinking of ways to reach out to students and let them be aware of what's inside the College of Education Library.

First banner for CED Library's Unofficial Blog

Since this blog is not in any way directly connected to the main university's site, its goal remains the same. That is, to increase the library awareness of the students of the College of Education. Hence, I included "Unofficial" in the blog's banner.

College of Education Renovation Report

On May 15, 2017, the College of Education Library opens its door to library patrons with its new arrangement. The circulation desk is now strategically situated near the entrance right in front of the online user registration system, Library Usage Log. Before, the circulation desk was situated in the center of the library right after the reading area. The problem that this arrangement imposes is that students who come inside the library most of the time disregard the Library Usage Log. This results in inaccurate library statistics of library usage every day which will then reflect to the satellite library’s report on library users.   CED Library Reading Area before the renovation Also, students are not properly monitored in the old arrangement. Most of them bring in food and drinks which are prohibited to avoid pests and insects inhabiting the library. Yesterday, Ma'am Agnes B. Cahanap, Officer-in-charge of the Institute Library of MSU-IIT, was surprised by her fellow librarians and library staff. Despite the busy schedule, the latter were able to prepare a suprise for her. Happy Birthday, Ma'am Agnes!
