Since the official website of the Department of Education (DepEd) is now updated, I will be removing the tab for the K to 12 Curriculum Guides, Teacher's Manual and Learner's Material. November 27, 2015 - Avast (The Free Antivirus) is currently being installed on every computer unit at CED Library. You can download the antivirus at this url: www.avast.com Cases of virus and corrupted files have become rampant this week. The College of Education (CED) Library computer units  are no exemption to this issue. Being publicly used by library patrons, the risk of virus infection on the computer  units is high. Possible culprit for this matter is that students might have attached an infected external hard drive or  flash drive on the computer units. An automatic scan on these drives takes place after the user attach a flash drive to  the unit, however, not all viruses and/or malwares are being detected by the installed scanner. Some malwares are able  to penetrate and install themselves on the computer system.

2 computer units were added to the Research Network Area (Multimedia Section) of the College of Education Library to replace the old damaged computers. Computers inside the CED Library are installed with Faronics' Deep Freeze to preserve each computer's configuration. This way, each computer is protected from virus and malwares. However, students are required to save their documents online or make use of an external hard drive or a USB Flash drive. 

The power outlet that was made open for student’s use is once again OFF LIMITS. This is due to students who are using the power outlet without permission which caused power outage to some computer units and an internet router inside the library. The internet router’s power outage resulted to internet connection problems inside the library (including the multimedia section) and library staff were unable to have their Biometric Finger - Scan Time Attendance System (TAS). This incident resulted to inconvenience not only to the library staff but also other library patrons. However, additional power outlets are being planned after the current renovations within the College of Education building.
